The craft group from Class 5 have begun knitting socks on three needles, which uses both pearl and garter stitch together, creating 'rib stitch'. This requires an enormous amount of thinking, planning and the capacity to follow a pattern in three dimensions....to think, just a few years ago they were just learning finger knitting! Glenaeon places a great importance on handcraft, recognising also the connection between knitting, craft and brain development. A warm pair of socks for winter is a bonus!
